Crossroads

This interesting image was taken on the Peak2Peak gondola which stretches 4.4km from Whistler mountain to Blackcomb mountain. The world record-breaking Peak2Peak gondola is a breath-taking journey, leading technology in tourist industry to infinite possibilities. 

Beyond the Rocks

The dark rock in the background of this photo, taken in 2012 from Symphony Chair, Whistler Mountain BC, is known as the Black Tusk. It is a stratovolcano and a pinnacle of volcanic rock in Garibaldi Provincial Park. The upper spire is visible at a great distance from all directions and is one of the most distinctive mountains in the Garibaldi Ranges of the Coast Mountains. As a volcano, it is also part of the Garibaldi Volcanic Belt. 

Upon the Peak

This photograph was taken in St Lucia, in the Caribbean in 2005. St Lucia has dramatic mountains, tropical rainforest, hot mineral springs, pure white sand beaches and clear blue water. There are many beautiful holiday resorts here such as Coconut Bay, Jade Mountain, and Ti Kaye. 

Perfect Majesty

This image is taken of Whistler Mountain on a warm day near the end of the ski season, mid April 2012. At this time the snow disappears from the lower tree canopies and becomes slushy and sticky - difficult to ski on as the underside can stick to the snow and slow you down. However the peak of Whistler and Blackcomb Glacier remain open well into July for summer skiers. 

Frosted Hills

The clear snowy landscape here shows a typical BC mountain. The Douglas-Fir trees to the right are native to western North America, otherwise known as the Oregon Pine or Douglas Spruce. Archibald Menzies first documented the tree on Vancouver Island where it is commonly known as Doug-Fir.

Smothered Giant

This image is from the same perspective as 'Blue Bowl', but on an entirely different day. The giant mountain has been covered up by heavy clouds moving in to blanket the slopes with fresh snow. Although this is a blessing later, it makes for difficult visibility in the area, dangerous when people are skiing. 

Blue Bowl

This stunning image was taken on Whistler Mountain, BC Canada in March 2012. In early morning, when the sun is rising on the other side of the mountain, the snow on the surrounding mountains reflect the light onto the face of the hill in the picture. This effect is most vivid on the bowl at the summit after a night of continuous snow.
